Michael is a Native Taino from the Island of Boriken (Puerto Rico). Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., but raised in Puerto Rico, he went through many traumatic events that affected his mind and ultimately caused him to be diagnosed with a mental disorder call "Schizoaffective Disorder". For many years, this disorder almost caused him to take his life. Whether through luck or a higher power, he remains with us. His book "Soundtrack of My Soul: A look Into the Life, Death and Rebirth of a Schizoaffective Man" gives readers a glimpse into his life and mind with the hopes to change the social perspective that many  have towards people with mental disorders.

He lives in Fort Lupton, Colorado with his wife, Sebrina, three children, Soraya the Cat and Jack Sungila, his service companion.
